Abinash has worked in various jurisdictions such as India, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Malaysia working at leading law firms, chambers, and an arbitral institution.
He was previously working as a Senior International Case Counsel with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was involved in the case management portfolio of arbitration, adjudication, mediation and domain-name disputes. He specifically worked towards regional growth in Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia regions. He was responsible for Islamic Finance Disputes (i-Arbitration Rules) portfolio and was an AIAC YPG Member for Maritime Arbitration and Sports Arbitration. He was also one of the drafting members of the AIAC Arbitration Rules 2021 and AIAC Islamic Arbitration Rules 2021.
He obtained his LLM in Comparative & International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and received Distinction in Construction Contracts and Arbitration. He was also the recipient of a full-merit scholarship on Private International Law at The Hague Academy of International Law. He also attended the Master Class on International Commercial Arbitration at Cologne Academies of Arbitration and Mediation. He has taught arbitration and conducted trainings at various international and national institutions such as King’s College London (UK), Julius-Maximilians University of Wurzburg (JMU, Germany), Gujarat Maritime University (GMU, India), Faculty of Law, Universiti Malaya (UM, Malaysia), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM, Malaysia), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UNISZA, Malaysia), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM, Malaysia), and Ghana Arbitration Centre. He has been a Vis Moot Arbitrator since 2015. He also contributed to Redfern and Hunter on International Arbitration (6th edition, OUP) published in 2015 and was a CIArb Member (MCIArb).
Mr. Barik has expressed his views as a Speaker on dispute resolution at various international and national platforms such as French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FACCI), Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC), Thailand Arbitration Center, Annual Summit on Commercial Dispute Resolution in China hosted by Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center, AIAC Arbitration-in-Practice Workshops, and Adani Institute of Infrastructure.
In the United Kingdom, Mr. Barik worked as a Research Assistant & Tribunal Secretary to Prof. Martin Hunter at Essex Court Chambers, London. In India, he worked as an Associate at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and has worked as a Counsel Advocate at the Chambers of Merusagar Samantray, AOR, New Delhi. In Germany, he practiced as a Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter in the International Arbitration Group (IAG) of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Frankfurt.

Abhay Singh Thakur
Abhay Singh Thakur is the Assistant Professor at the Gujarat Maritime University with over eight years of experience, which includes teaching and industry experiences. He specialises in the domains of Shipping Laws and Regulations, Marine Environmental Law, and Law of International Carriage. He is also the Center Head of the Centre for Maritime Environmental Law at Gujarat Maritime University.
Abhay Singh has presented papers on Maritime Law and other maritime subjects at various International Conferences, most notably at the International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Maritime Safety and Technology in Malaysia and the International Association of Maritime Economists Conference held at Rotterdam. He has published multiple research papers in SCOPUS/WOS/UGC-indexed International Journals on Marine Environment and related subjects. Abhay is also invited regularly as a resource person by reputed universities and organisations like Gujarat National Law University, IFIM Law School, CARE etc., on important and contemporary maritime subjects.
Currently, he is pursuing his Doctorate at the prestigious Gujarat National Law University, in which he is undertaking multidisciplinary research in Maritime Environmental Law and Shipping Contracts. He has also qualified for the UGC-NET exam and possesses a Master’s in Law from the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata.

Mr. Banerjee previously worked as the Sr. Vice President - HR, UltraTech Cement Ltd, Rawan Cluster. During his tenure at the Ultra Tech Cement, Mr. Banerjee led the HR Department as Functional Head (Overseeing all Grinding Units of Eastern Cluster). He also looked into the Training and Coordination Wing of UltraTech Cement.
